Again and again, the Holy Scriptures commend music to God’s People.

“Praise the Lord with the harp; play to him upon the psaltery and lyre.  Sing for him a new song; sound a fanfare with all your skill upon the trumpet.” Psalm 33:2-3 (BCP)

“Praise him with the blast of the ram’s-horn; praise him with lyre and harp.  Praise him with timbrel and dance; praise him with strings and pipe.  Praise him with resounding cymbals; praise him with loud-clanging cymbals.” Psalm 150:3-5 (BCP)

“Raise a song and sound the timbrel, the merry harp, and the lyre. Blow the ram’s-horn at the new moon, and at the full moon, the day of our feast.”Psalm 81:2-3 (BCP)

“Sing to the Lord with the harp, with the harp and the voice of song.  With trumpets and the sound of the horn shout with joy before the King, the Lord.” Psalm 98:6-7 (BCP)

A Christmas Carol at St. Paul's Parish
The Largely Literary Company
performs A Christmas Carol

At St. Paul’s Parish, we believe that making a joyful noise unto the Lord is not an activity limited to worship. Our church building is not only a place of worship on Sunday mornings or other special designated times, it is also a performance venue for musicians and actors. In recent years we have hosted musical performances by the Bowling Green University Chorus, the Oberlin Choristers, the Highland String Quartet, folk singer John Mosey, and many others, as well as a dramatization of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol by The Largely Literary Theater Company.

Two programs of music concerts or recitals offer regularly scheduled musical performances:
